An entire wall of wine bottles collapsed at a fancy restaurant in St Petersburg, Russia, when a man working there selected one of them.

The hilarious and/or tragic scene was captured on a CCTV camera in the restaurant, Frou Frou.

The bottles were hung from the ceiling by a network of ropes.

One of the ropes is believed to have broken when the manager selected a bottle from those hanging there.

That caused a cascading chain-reaction, which eventually resulted in almost all of them crashing to the ground.

The cost of damage is not yet known, but reports put it at at least a million roubles.

The employee involved in the expensive mishap has not been fired as the incident was not deemed to have been his fault.

Initial reports suggested the wine wall was prone to collapse due to unspecified miscalculations by the wine room manufacturers and that this means they could face a claim for the cost of the collapse.
