A pedestrian in Russia went above-and-beyond to stop an out-of-control truck from smashing straight into a parked car on 8 April.

The driver of the white 'Gazelle' van forgot to put handbrake on when he got out.

Predictably, the vehicle rolled forwards, first scratching a Lada 'X-Ray' car before picking up speed as it headed towards a much more expensive car.

Fortunately a passer-by saw the disaster unfold and put his hands on the bonnet of the van, using their bare hands and a lot of effort to stop it.

Amazingly, the truck weighs approximately 1.8 tonnes!

The clumsy driver of the truck then appeared and got behind the wheel, where he immediately reversed it straight into another van before finally working out how to drive off safely.
