Hundreds of Followers of Network of Radicalism Groups in Indonesia, Revoke Bai'at
HUNDREDS of followers of the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) network, in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, participated in the revocation of Ba'iat, Friday, April 29, 2022. They declared that they had left the organization which was considered to spread radicalism and reeks of terrorism.
The procession to withdraw the Bai'at, which was strung with a statement of oath of allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), was carried out by 518 people at the Suri Maharajo Building, Dirajo Batusangkar.
The procession of revoking Ba'iat was witnessed by the Head of the Regional Police (Kapolda) of West Sumatra, Inspector General of Police Teddy Minahasa Putra, the Governor of West Sumatra, Mahyeldi and a number of other relevant officials.
This is the impact of the arrest of 16 suspected terrorists from West Sumatra, in mid-March 2022. Of the 16 people, 4 of them came from Tanah Datar Regency. From the search and data collection, Densus stated that there were 1,125 NII followers in West Sumatra. More than 200 people are residents of Tanah Datar. The rest is in Dharmasraya Regency.
The West Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Teddy Minahasa Putra believes that hundreds of West Sumatran residents who have been registered as members of the NII network are people who just joined in and were tricked by NII cadres. He asked residents who were on the list exposed to the notion of NII, according to data released by Densus, to immediately revoke Ba'iat no later than May 20, coinciding with National Awakening Day, all of which must be revoked.
Alhamdulillah, yesterday there were 391 people in Dharmasraya, today there are 518 people. This constellation illustrates that they are still at the beginner stage. It's different from the 16 people we arrested on March 25th. They are characters who have passed the stages. immediately revoke Ba'iat no later than May 20, coinciding with National Awakening Day, all of them must be revoked. If there are still those who have not revoked their Ba'iat, I will enforce the law as hard as possible. I, Densus, Danrem and other Forkopimda elements have agreed with that. The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is Dead, Pancasila must be upheld
