A pile of as many as 20 mattresses blew off the back of a truck and blocked a busy motorway - causing chaos for drivers. The bedding flew across at least two lanes of the M20 in Kent on the London bound carriageway yesterday (Thurs) afternoon. Cars were forced to manoeuvre around the many mattresses, which were sprawled across the tarmac between junctions 10 and 9. One driver said: "I had to go out into the fast lane to avoid them – they could easily cause an accident." The mattresses had been stacked in a cage, but its doors were not secured and swung open on the busy road near Ashford, Kent. The surprising incident was captured by cameras mounted on the front and side of another truck that was driving behind in the inside lane. Motorists faced delays of around an hour on the coastbound carriageway following the spillage, also near Ashford.
