Streets were bustling in Tooting, south London (May 1) as locals gathered with family and friends to celebrate Chaand Raat (Night of the Moon) - a south Asian tradition where people gather to view the crescent moon, signaling the end of Ramadan.

Businesses stayed open late into the night and street stalls lined the road as people shopped for new clothes, gifts, sweets and food for the Eid festivities. Many women had mehndi - traditional henna designs applied to their hands.

Imran Khan supporters were also out in force following the former prime minister's removal from office last month.
