An urban explorer has gone viral offering a glimpse into an abandoned nursing home.

Sonny, 25, from US, visited the US site, keeping the exact location secret so people don't vandalise it, with his girlfriend last year and likened the five-hour excursion a "something out of a horror movie".

The facility, believed to have opened in 1970s and closed due to bankruptcy in the 2000s, still had medical supplies, wheelchairs and alarm clocks used by former patients scattered across the venue.

The hallways once occupied by residents in the adjoining rooms are now littered with crushed ceiling tiles and patient trolleys.

Hauntingly the bedrooms look as though they have been left untouched since closing down, with the duvet and pillow positioned as though someone had recently jumped out of bed.

Grime and mould scale the stand alone 1970s decor baths and wall tiles.

The canteen style kitchen has used pots and pans hanging above the main counter, now masked with limescale due to not being touched in decades.

And eerily old-fashioned floral seats, presumably used by friends and family members of residents, remain in the waiting room in front of rotting windows – showing just how long they have stood there unused.

Sonny's findings have gone viral on TikTok (@xplorewithsonny), with his videos racking up nearly two million views.

"When I visit these places they feel warm and welcoming but also have a darkness to them", Sonny told Jam Press.

"It’s a feeling I don’t get exploring anywhere else to be honest.

"Some hallways were riddled with black mould and water damage while others looked untouched for years.

"There was a few times I ventured off alone down what seemed like never ending hallways.

"I remember hearing the distinct noise of slippers gliding across the floor. I stopped to listen and heard silence.

"It was like something out of a horror film. It still sticks with me to this day.

"The building didn’t appear very large from the outside but inside was a maze of hallways and rooms around every corner.

"There must have been over 50 patient rooms, not to mention recreational rooms and other things like that.

"This place definitely had some energy left behind.

"You have to imagine how many people have come through this place.

"It saw life and death and all sorts of emotions."

After filming his surroundings, Sonny shared videos on TikTok (@xplorewithsonny) to his 1.1 million followers.

One TikToker said: "How are you NOT scared [sic]."

A second viewer commented: "Did the chair move on its own?"

A third social media user joked: "It still looks cleaner than my room."

"Bro that broken down hallway that is so awesome!!!", said a fourth impressed follower.

A fifth person said: "Dude how are u not dead yet after exploring alot of abanded places." [sic]
