Runners in T-Rex costumes have 'dinosaur race' in Japan
T-Rex lovers flopped their way to the finish line in what organisers claimed was the first-ever 'dinosaur race' in Japan.
Dozens showed up to join the unusual race event in Daisen, Tottori Prefecture on April 16. The event involved a funny dino warm-up followed by a 70-metre sprint to the finish line.
The race sponsor, who worked as a manager in a local camping facility, said: 'I hope this race will be a great way for people to relieve stress and have a decent laugh during the pandemic.'
Officials said the amusing event was preceded by a radio taiso warmup, a common morning exercise routine in Japan.
The race comprised of several rounds, with the adults going first followed by children. The runners even decorated their inflatable T-Rex costumes with flags, balloons and other accessories.
