A scary video of an elephant entering a temple has emerged from Sri Lanka.

The incident took place in Sithulpawwa Yala Sri temple situated within Yala National Park on May 1.

Visuals showed the large mammal standing on the side of the road along with a man who was feeding it. The man was throwing food on the ground that the elephant was eating. A second man was seen entering the frame and standing in front of the pachyderm.

Later, both the men moved away from the elephant, while it still stood in the same place for a while. One of the men threw a firecracker near the tusker to distract it. The elephant then changed its direction and started to move to its left.

As the elephant crossed the iron gate, the men around closed it so that it could not cross it.
