Kind fishermen rescue sea turtle tangled in net in the Philippines
This is the heartwarming moment kind fishermen rescued a sea turtle tangled in a net.
Footage shows the men carefully removing the nylon tied around the turtle's body at a beach in Mati City, Davao province, the Philippines on June 23.
The fisherman George Plaza was also seen gently helping the marine creature using scissors and a small stick as it lied on the sand.
He was able to free the animal after carefully cutting the object, and returned it back to the sea.
Local Lewy Tirol Dalumpines said: 'I was just walking along the beach when I saw them gathering. I'm glad they helped an endangered species to get back to sea and free him from the net.'
Sea turtles have suffered a worrying decline in numbers in the wild due to poachers capturing them for their eggs, meat, skin and shells.
