A pedestrian in Arzamas, Russia, stopped a thief in his tracks and returned a stolen phone to a 9-year-old schoolgirl.

CCTV footage captured the moment a man snatched the phone out of the student's hands before running off down a road.

A passerby noticed the girl chasing the man and grabbed the device off the thief before handing it back to the girl.

An 18-year-old college student, with the help of the passing man, performed a citizen's arrest on the thief.

In Arzamas, a nine-year-old schoolgirl was standing at a bus stop waiting for a bus. A passing man snatched the phone from her and ran away. The girl ran after him, but fell. A passer-by responded to the child's cries for help, who tried to stop the kidnapper, but could only take the stolen phone from him.

On the other side of the street, an 18-year-old student from a local college joined the arrest of the attacker. Together they caught the thief.
