A motorist filmed as a wild tiger stared them down on a countryside road in northern China.

The video was filmed in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province on May 9.

A motorist named Li was seen taking his phone out to film the tiger. He was heard saying: "Hi bro, where are you going?"

Li said the tiger looked around 200 kilograms and had eye contact with him for around one minute.

He was scared at the beginning, but since he did not see the tiger was trying to attack them, he recorded the encounter with his phone.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
