An adorable video has emerged of a giant panda cub greeting a soft toy panda in a Taiwan zoo.

In the footage, captured in Taipei Zoo on Wednesday morning, panda cub Yuan-Zai strolls over to inspect the toy being held up to the glass of her enclosure.

“A little girl showed the baby panda her new panda toy and the curious panda Yuan-Zai approached to the toy to say hi,” the filmer later wrote online.

The panda, whose name roughly translates to 'rice ball', gained worldwide notoriety when she was separated from her mother shortly after her birth in 2013 because of an accidental injury.

Their eventual reunion was watched millions of times across the world with Yuan-Zai being given an honorary citizen's ID card to recognise her fame.
