This is the scary moment a wild elephant tried 'dining in' at a restaurant in Thailand.

The male jumbo was wandering on a road inside Khao Yai national park in Nakhon Nayok province, when he smelled an omelette cooking inside a food shop on March 24.

He went to the tourist stopover place and waited outside appearing to enjoy the delicious smell while trying to find a way inside.

However, the jumbo was not able to find food and lingered for a moment on the compound before finally leaving the place.

Restaurant owner Chuan Chim said: ‘Last year, a bear tried dining in here. Now, we have an elephant visitor.’

The jumbo left the place without damaging anything while the shop owner and his staff hid in the park.
