Bungling pickup driver gets stuck in wet cement
This is the shocking moment a bungling pickup truck driver was seen getting stuck in wet cement.
The motorist behind the wheel of the brand new silver RAM 1500 was driving past the construction area where a new road was being laid but failed to realise what was on the ground.
Shocked locals noticed a problem when they heard the female driver thrashing the engine and smoke appearing in Davao city, the Philippines, on April 9.
The driver battled to free the expensive 2021 car - worth around four million Pesos or 76,000 US dollars - from the quick-drying quagmire but eventually gave up.
A backhoe arrived around 30 minutes later to pull the truck out of the cement before towing it to the nearest mechanic's shop. It is believed to have needed expensive repairs.
Onlooker Nicholas Spinks said: 'The woman driving the car was about 50 years old. She just didn't notice the wet cement. It was quite deep so the car just sank. I felt sorry for her because the pickup truck is so expensive.'
