Three clever pet dogs worked together to unlock a closed gate to their house in the Philippines.

Dog owner Jonalyn Alo was doing chores at home in Talisay City, Cebu province on May 1 when she heard a squeaking sound coming from the front of the property. Thinking it was a burglar attempting an invasion, she stepped out and was pleasantly surprised to see her three dogs Roxy, Lilo, and Stitch coming back home after playing outside.

The crafty canines were seen trying to open the gate and pawing at its barrel lock to unfasten it.

Jonalyn said: 'I felt amused by the scene, so I grabbed my phone to record it. I was curious if they could actually make it inside. I tried to secretly record them so they could stay focused and not be distracted, but I failed.

'The dogs saw me and tried to communicate with their eyes and gestures that they wanted me to open the gate for them. I just cheered them on and tried to hold in my laughter.'

Thanks to their perseverance and determination, Roxy, Lilo, and Stitch managed to reunite with their fur mum after unlocking the gate on their own.
