This is the terrifying moment a huge python was found curled up in a warehouse ceiling in Thailand.

Owner Thawatchai Taithan, 42, called authorities after finding the large predator resting near the rafters of the warehouse storing agricultural products in Kamphaeng Phet province on May 7. It had climbed up the 32ft high columns of the building and wrapped itself around one of the beams.

Rescuers arrived with their tools, but later decided to use a cherry picker as the snake was too high to reach. The python was roused and tried to constrict the snake-catching pole the officers were using, making its capture easier.

They pulled down the 12ft long reptile down and placed it inside a sack. It is believed to have slithered up to the ceiling, lying in wait to prey on unwitting birds. It was later released safely back to nature.

Thawatchai said: 'I'm relieved the snake didn't drop down onto my head. It's safer in the warehouse now the snake has been taken away.'
