This is the moment a hailstorm battered a small village in Myanmar.

Footage taken on May 10 shows a heavy downpour accompanied by pebble-sized pieces of ice hitting homes in Naung Pain. Locals took shelter as the pellets struck motorcycles left outside buildings.

Hailstones form when water droplets freeze from cold temperatures in the upper regions of storm clouds. They vary in size, ranging between 5 millimetres to 15 centimetres in diameter.
