Footage shows adorable cats and dogs with their owners at a pet exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday May 6.

The Pet Expo 2022 event had the theme of the 'Petaverse' with hundreds of stalls showcasing technology to help owners care for their beloved companions.

One of the highlights was the 'Buddyverse', a tech creation that uses digital technologies to take pet lovers to explore the digital world with their own avatars to interact with virtual pets.

Firms offering pet spas, hotels, hospitals, clinics and 'wellness centres' for animals were in attendance as well as leading brands selling pet food, medical supplies and supplements.

Organisers of the pet fair said the Petaverse concept comes amid a rise in gadgets being used by owners to care for their animals. They include smart collars that detect a pet's pulse, heart rate, sleep quality, temperature and illness.

CCTV cameras geared towards monitor animals as well as automated food dispensers and other tools were also displayed.

The event runs until May 7 at the Bitec Hall.
