This clever dog ate sunflower seeds and spat out the shells in eastern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Wuxi in Jiangsu Province on April 29.

A 6-year-old Pomeranian laying on a bed ate sunflower seeds from a bag and spat the shells out.

The filmer's grandson Mr Song said to Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation that his grandmother lived with the dog for six years and treated it as their own child.

Since Song's grandmother liked to eat sunflower seeds, the dog always watched her eat and learnt how to remove the shells.

视频拍摄者老人的外孙宋先生表示，姥姥养了狗狗6年，平常对它就像跟孩子一样。老人和狗狗感情非常深厚，平时没有太多讲究，狗狗喜欢吃什么就喂什么，也没有特别的去训练他。因为平时姥姥没事儿的时候就喜欢嗑瓜子，狗狗就会坐在旁边陪着她一起嗑，慢慢地也就学会嗑瓜子了。（视频由江苏台提供）
