Thousands of protesters rallied in central London on Saturday (May 14) in support of Palestine and to demand justice for the killed Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

Demonstrators marched from Portland Place to Downing Street, with many holding placards demanding 'freedom for Palestine'.

Outside Downing Street, the residence and office of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, protesters chanted "we want justice for Shireen" and "Palestine will be free".

Al Jazeera, the network who Shireen Abu Akleh worked for, claimed she was shot deliberately by Israeli troops whilst doing her job and that she was wearing a press vest at the time. Israel's prime minister said it was likely Abu Akleh was shot by Palestinian gunmen.

Israeli forces attacked mourners at Abu Akleh's funeral on Friday in Jerusalem.
