This is the shocking moment a live leech was pulled from a boy's nose in Indonesia.

Nurr Rahayuu Jasmien recorded a doctor extracting the parasite from her nephew's nose on August 4 in Pangkajene, Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia. The annelid was seen still writhing around while being held by a pair of tweezers.

Jasmien said: 'Honestly, he also didn't understand how the leech entered his nose. He experienced sudden and frequent nosebleeds so we went to the hospital to check.'

'Some said a possible cause may be that he bathed at a nearby river.'
