A unique wrestling festival in Vietnam saw competitors fighting in the mud for wooden balls in this intriguing video.

The festival is called the "Van Village Mud Wrestling Festival" which is held Bac Giang every four years in May, for locals worshipping a sun god.

Festival participants play in a flooded area of ​​​​about 200 square metres, with a hole at each end of the field.

16 youths are divided into two teams and each compete for the wooden ball. The ball is made of wood, 35 cm in diameter and about 20 kg in weight, representing the sun.

The task of the two teams is to win the ball and put it in the opponent's hole.
