Army personnel took the lead in putting out forest fires in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir.

The fire reportedly broke out on Monday, May 16 in the Niaka Panjgrian, Tarkundi, Namblan and other villages located along Line of Control in Rajouri district.

With houses being under threat due to the fire, the army personnel jumped to action pretty swiftly.

Videos show them splashing water on the flames and also slamming their huge shovels on the fire to put it out.

They were also scattering the burning grass and hay using their shovels.

The fire was eventually put out and no one was harmed.
