Adorable puppy rescued by police poses for amusing mugshot charged with 'getting lost'
This is the heartwarming moment an adorable puppy was charged with 'getting lost' after being found by police - who are now adopting her to become a sniffer dog.
The sweet Golden Retriever, believed to be just a few months old, was heard whimpering under an apartment block following a heavy tropical rainstorm in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday night.
A passing policeman who was visiting the building arrived to help and scooped up the shivering little female puppy.
Colleagues at the Lumpini District Police Station cleaned up the pooch - before making her pose for a cute mug shot.
Pictures show the little baby dog sitting on a chair in front of a board with a charge written on it in red pen.
It reads 'Name: Golden Retriever' and 'Charge: Being a lost dog'. It also details the date, time and location she was found.
Police Colonel Nimit Nuphonthong said they have now named the puppy 'Mumu' and will raise her as one of their own.
He said: 'I picked up the puppy and she was very fragile in my arms. There was no sign of the owner and nobody at the apartment block knew she belonged to. We think she could have been abandoned or a stray that was left by its mother.
'We will take care of Mumu at the police station and if there's still no sign of ger owner, she will join the police canine unit to become part of the team as a sniffer dog.'
Mumu could now be set for a gilded life in the Thai Royal Police where she will receive the best care and grooming while helping to detect bombs, insurgents and drugs.
