The iconic Sheerness Town Centre clock-tower in Kent, UK - originally erected 1902 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII - has been extensively refurbished by clock-maker Smith of Derby and repainted in a new green-gold colour scheme.

Today (May 17) at 1 pm there was a 'topping out' ceremony as the 120-year-old clock's bell and top-piece was carefully craned back into position.

The refurbished clock tower has been resurrected 'just in time' for the Queen's Jubilee in June.

Local fundraiser, Tim Bell, took the opportunity decorate his mobility scooter 'tank' with flags and play themed music at the ceremony.
