Injured passengers were pulled from a bank security van following a crash in Thailand.

The armoured van belonging to the national Krungthai Bank was headed to a garage in Ubon Ratchathani province on May 17 for maintenance when it collided with a pickup truck on the way to Warin Chamrap District. The two vehicles were damaged and skidded into a ditch in the middle of the road.

Rescuers rushed to the scene and found the truck's engine compartment burning and emitting smoke. They quickly doused the fire with water before it could cause an explosion, and pulled out from both vehicles the wounded passengers, who have been taken to the hospital. They reportedly did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Officers named the victims as 23-year-old Pattanapong Wongsa, driver of the pickup truck, and the van's driver, identified only as Dej. Authorities are now collecting dashcam footage from the vehicles to determine the specific cause of the accident.
