A terrified mother fled with her baby when a cobra slithered across their yard.

Mother-of-two Zendara walked out of the car while carrying her little girl when the serpent emerged from the long gress next to the driveway in Bangkok, Thailand on May 7.

Footage shows Zendara screaming in terror and running away with her child while the snake slithered to the other side of the garden.

Zendara said she had just returned from a nearby Buddhist temple when the incident happened.

She said: ‘We just returned from the temple and I was heading for the house through the garden. I noticed there was a snake and my instinct I had to escape because my child was with me at that time.’

No one was hurt in the incident and the house was searched for the snake but it was not found.

The cobra seen in the video is one the many species of snake that live in the Thai capital in undergrowth, swamps, canals and ponds.
