Kind-hearted women struggled to move manhole cover that was washed away by water back in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Wenchang in Hainan Province on May 15 shows a 70-year-old woman named Li Fengjin trying to move a metal cover back onto the manhole but it was too heavy.

Another woman riding past the area on a scooter stopped and went to drag the cover back onto the manhole in the middle of a road with the elderly woman.

Li told Nanguo Metropolis Daily that she found a cover was several metres away from a manhole when she was on her way back home. Since the water was rapid inside the manhole, she was afraid the children would fall inside.

So Li tried to move the cover back onto the manhole by herself. However, the cover was heavy and the road was slippery after the rain, she could not move the cover by herself.

After a few minutes, a woman in her 30s riding past the area stopped to help Li to drag the cover back onto the manhole.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
