Floodwater gushed into a lift in a condominium block following heavy rain in Thailand.

Tenant Jittiphum Ouii Chugate recorded the dirty deluge pouring into the elevator as he reached the ground floor of the building in Bangkok's Ratchada area on May 18.

He was even more outraged upon finding his newly-washed car under several inches of filthy water in the parking area.

He said: 'The flood happened after I cleaned my car and motorbike. Walking through the water and seeing my car in the water felt like a sad movie.'

The Thai Meteorological Department said Thailand had entered its rainy season around the second week of May and it will last until mid-October.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods which cause rivers to flow faster and become dangerous.

Neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are reaching the start of their tropical monsoon rainy season.
