A hero fisherman saved a stray dog trapped in a discarded net in a dam.
Wanlop Laemmong was with a colleague when they noticed something splashing on the edge of Mae Tho Reservoir in Tak province, Thailand on May 15.
He rowed towards the edge and found it was a dog, fighting to stay afloat as it was stuck in fishing gear. With the help of his companion, Wanlop cut the net and pulled the trembling pooch into his boat.
The fisherman said the didn’t know how the dog was trapped.
He said: ‘We didn’t know how it could have been trapped. Maybe it was trying to reach something in the water and stepped on the net.’
The unhurt dog was taken home by Wanlop to be adopted.
