Inside sensational helicopter mission to save paraglider under snow
This clip shows a sensational helicopter rescue in the freezing weather of the alpine ski resort of Rosa Khutor, in Sochi, Russia.
A paraglider from the city of Pskov, Russia, fell and got stuck in a hard-to-reach place with rocky terrain in the Caucasus Mountain.
The man found himself completely covered by heavy snow, and rescuers managed to spot him because of his head, which was sticking out from under the snow.
Amazing footage shows the rescue team in operation, from the moment they land and energetically dig to save the man to when the helicopter finally leaves the scene.
The man, aged 46, was rescued and taken to the hospital. He reported a spinal fracture, a broken leg, and a head injury.
