A minivan full of terrified passengers flew into the air after running over a box that fell from the truck in front.

Footage shows the silver vehicle travelling along a highway when the unexpected object fell into its path in Samut Prakan province, Thailand, on May 22.

Dashcam footage from a car driving behind shows how the people carrier appeared to be pulling a wheelie when it crashed into the box.

It then slammed back down onto its front wheels before the rear bumper soared up into the air.

Shocked motorist Surakit said: ‘I slowed down when it happened. I thought the van would flip over.’

The quick-thinking minivan driver showed his skills, managing to keep calm and regain control before slow down and pulling over to the side.

The box that fell was found to be a box of compressed paper scrap.

No one was hurt in the incident but the passengers were shaken by the brush with disaster.
