Dozens of Central American migrants were forced to flee on foot recently after the truck in which they were being smuggled overturned in Mexico.

Footage captured 10 kilometres from Chiapas Bridge at 6 pm on May 20 showed the migrants, including women and children, running away with their belongings immediately after the accident.

According to local media organisation "Alerta Chiapas", the migrants were probably trying to reach the United States and would have scattered fearing arrest.

At the end of the video, the driver of the truck can be seen climbing from the cab of the vehicle.
