Four puppies were rescued after they were found trapped under a sewer in Thailand.

The pooches were heard crying by residents in a village in Samut Prakan province following a heavy tropical rainstorm on May 22.

A local rescue team came to help and found the dogs huddled up on the corner of the concrete hole, fighting off being washed away by the water.

The team quickly removed the sewer cover and reached for the dogs one by one.

Rescuer Tam Sricham said: ‘It had been raining so there was flowing water under the sewer. They could have drowned if the residents had not found them on time.

'

The dogs were unhurt and given food and water on the scene before the rescue team took them to an animal shelter for adoption.
