A 7-year-old Shiba Inu escaped its new owner and travelled five miles back to its old home in northern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Harbin in Heilongjiang Province on April 29.

A Shiba Inu named A Sai was seen moving around in front of her owner named Zhao. Zhao was heard asking while sobbing: "Why did you come back? How did you come back, baby? I heard a noise outside. I did not know it was you. Don’t cry."

Zhao had owned A Tai for eight years previously.

Another clip shows A Sai continuously drinking water from a basin.

According to Zhao, she had really bad asthma and was hospitalised for treatment a month ago.

The dog's hair triggered Zhao's asthma and her friend had to adopt A Sai.

However, A Sai travelled around five miles from Zhao's friend's place back to her former home.

Zhao burst into tears when she saw A Sai at the door.

Zhao said to Heilongjiang Television Station that the distance between her friend's place and her place is eight kilometres (five miles) so A Sai probably ran around two hours back home.

Zhao has already built up a dog house for A Sai and will keep the dog with her forever.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
