Platinum Jubilee: Stroud Brewery in Gloucestershire finds unopened bottles of its 1953 Coronation Ale
Ahead of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, staff at Stroud Brewery in Gloucestershire have found two unopened bottles of Coronation Ale, made in 1953.
The ancient brew, also by Stroud Brewery, was made to celebrate the Queen's coronation that year.
Brewer Ben Jennison-Phillips explained that the brewery will be raising a glass to the Jubilee celebrations (2-5 June), but with one of their modern beers, not the ones made 70 years ago!
