An artist makes awesome portraits using his own hair.

Instead of throwing away his trimmed locks, Mario Silva, 29, makes wonderful portraits with them in Bukidnon, the Philippines.

Footage shows the talented young artist cutting his hair and, using a tiny stick, fashioning the dark strands into images on top of white paper.

Mario said he started making hair art during the lockdown when he cut his own hair because the barbershops were closed.

He said: ‘I started creating hair art during the lockdown because I was bored. I could not go to a barbershop so I cut my own hair.

'I think this is a smart and creative way to recycle old hair.'

Mario said one of his portraits can take up to four hours to finish.
