Today, May 26, is known and celebrated in South East England as 'Kent Day' - after the feast day of Saint Augustine - the first Archbishop of Canterbury.

Queenborough in Kent was seen proudly flying the county's distinctive red flag from an official flag-mast for the event.

Kent's flag features 'the white horse of Kent' - the county's official symbol - which is sometimes called Invicta.

Invicta is a Latin word meaning undefeated or unconquered and is the official motto for Kent.

The ‘Kingdom of Kent’ was established in 455.
