Cruise ship fire: Shocking video captures flames and smoke pouring from Carnival Freedom ship in Grand Turk
There was a fire on board a Carnival cruise ship docked in Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos on Thursday May 26.
Video showed fire and smoke emerging from the Carnival Freedom's funnel, before firefighters quickly put it out.
The video was shot by a passenger on the nearby ship Carnival Mardi Gras.
The filmer said: "It was a crazy thing to watch and I was really scared for the passengers on the Freedom. The wind was blowing very hard and the fire seemed to grow bigger and bigger. I wasn’t sure how they would contain it. But the staff is very well trained!"
Carnival told media that all crew and passengers on the ship are safe and that they are assessing the situation.
