Wreckage of world's largest plane, destroyed in Ukraine war, dragged from Kyiv's Hostomel airport for scrap
The wreckage of the world's largest plane, the Antonov An-225 'Mriya' ('dream' in Ukrainian), was dragged away from Kyiv's Hostomel airport for recycling on Thursday 26 May.
Non-exclusive video shared by Ukraine's police showed a destroyed part of the front of the plane being dragged across the tarmac by two large vehicles.
The An-225 had a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes and was the heaviest plane ever built.
It was destroyed during the early days of the Russian invasion.
Ukraine blamed Russian forces for destroying it.
Hostomel Airport, formally known as Antonov Airport, is an international cargo airport and testing facility in Ukraine. It is located near a suburb of Kyiv called Hostomel.
