Thousands of anti-gun protesters gathered outside the NRA's convention, to oppose it, and America's liberal gun laws, in the wake of another school shooting.

On Tuesday, 19 students and two teachers were killed when a gunman entered Ulvalde school in Texas.

There were physical clashes as pro-gun attendees of the NRA's event entered and left the convention centre.

Politicians and public figures, including Beto O'Rourke, addressed the crowd from stage.

Inside, there were long lines of people waiting to enter the ballroom where former president Trump is due to speak.

Secret service personnel and police were seen scanning people with metal detectors at the door as they waited to go in.
