Semi-nude PETA activists stage 'blood'-covered die-in at Marble Arch, London, against Queen’s Guards’ bear skins hats

Partially nude PETA activists staged a ‘die-in’ at Marble Arch in London in protest against bear skin being used for Queen’s Guards’ hats.

They were also covered with what appeared to be theatrical 'blood'.

Currently, the UK's Ministry of Defence uses real bear fur to make the caps, and it takes one bear to make just one cap.

PETA helped develop what it says is a suitable 'faux fur' alternative, which the MoD has so far refused to use.

The subject is particularly pertinent with the Queen's Jubilee approaching and with it parades involving the Guards and their bearskin hats.
