Footage shows how an artistic Thai chef cooks a delicious pancake caricature of Queen Elizabeth to mark her Platinum Jubilee.

Thanabadee Tongan, 36, rustled up the sweet treat honouring the British monarch from his market stand Happy Pancake in Bo Thong Market in Chonburi province, eastern Thailand.

The cook was an airbrush painter before he turned to making hot pancakes which quickly became a crowd favourite because of their intricate designs.

Thanabadee hand pipes colourful batter onto a hot grill, which doubles as a canvas, while he draws out the cartoon images of famous people

The chef said: 'Queen Elizabeth is the most famous monarch in the world. Everybody respects her. She has lived for so long and is still a strong Queen. I enjoyed making her into a pancake to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.'

Thanabadee said he only started to become popular when he made videos and posted them on TikTok.

He added: 'Everybody loved it and I think I might move to Bangkok as there are more customers over there. My stall has grown in popularity and now people come here just to watch me make the pancakes.'

With his artistic experience, Thanabadee can squeeze the hot flour and form awesome celebrity and popular cartoons by just looking at his iPad screen. The skilled chef can also make a portrait pancake by just looking at his customer’s face.

Other famous figures that he has turned into pancakes to be eaten include British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Christiano Ronaldo and Britney Spears.

Thanabadee had even made a pancake of the historic TV moment Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony last month.

Happy Pancakes opens every day from Monday to Saturday from 4 PM to late at night.
