A protester has set up their tent in trees next to the Eiffel Tower in response to plans to cut them down.

Footage from May 31 shows Thomas Brail, the founder of the Group of National Surveillance of the Trees, hanging in a tent attached to a tree.

A printed tweet from the Minister of the Interior Elisabeth Borne reads that she has agreed to discuss the subject.

Paris City Hall announced plans to cut down the trees as part of a building project on the Champ-de-Mars, the park at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
