Queen returns for Platinum Jubilee after storm forces plane to abort landing
The Queen returned to London by private jet on May 31 after a short break at Balmoral in Scotland.
A lightning storm initially forced the plane she was on to abort its landing but the pilot successfully landed once the skies had cleared.
Footage shows the 96-year-old monarch riding in the front passenger seat of her Range Rover as she returns home to celebrate the 70th anniversary of her ascension to the throne.
It is understood she arrived at her Scottish home on Thursday ahead of her official birthday this week.
The Queen usually visits Scotland at this time of year and Balmoral is said to be one of her favourite places.
