Landslides triggered as Chinese city rocked by earthquakes minutes apart
Several cars were left wrecked by landslides that were triggered by two earthquakes that occurred just three minutes apart in China's Ya'an.
It’s reported that a series of landslides occurred in Ya'an, Sichuan province, after two earthquakes, the first being 6.1-magnitude at 5 pm local time and the second being 4.5-magnitude at 5:03 pm on June 1.
According to the comprehensive analysis and research of experts, the Lushan 6.1-magnitude earthquake is an aftershock of the 7.0-magnitude earthquake in 2013, which killed at least 196 people.
The two earthquakes are just nine kilometres apart and the seismic fault lies in the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault zone.
