Thousands of women attempted to break a world record with a traditional dance in India's Pink City, Jaipur.

The event in Vatsala Garden saw 6,000 women attend on May 28.

Aerial visuals show the women dressed in Ghagra, traditional clothing, as they danced to the beat in unison.

According to reports, the women who performed a local dance called Ghoomar set a record.

The event was organised by Bollywood actor Nushrat Bharucha who was in attendance.

The previous record was 3,003 performing the dance.

An amusing visual has emerged of 6000 women dancing together in the 'Pink city' of northern India's Rajasthan.

The incident took place in Vatsala Garden located in the Journalist Colony of Mansarovar of Jaipur city on May 28.

Visuals showed a large group of women dressed in 'Ghagra' (traditional clothes) dancing to the beat together. There was a small group dancing on the stage and then there was a huge crowd standing off the stage following them. People were seen enjoying the ambiance.

According to reports, 6000 women and girls have created a world record by performing 'Ghoomar' dance (Indian traditional dance from Rajasthan) together. This splendid achievement of women has been recorded in the World Book of Records in the name of Gulabi Nagar.

This collective 'Ghoomar' dance was organized by Sadbhavna Parivar. Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha also attended the event. During this, Bharucha also gave her performance, while the stage was conducted by Junior Akshay Kumar Vikalp Mehta.

In the program, the target was of 5100 women to perform the 'Ghoomar' dance together, but 6000 women participated instead and created a new world record. Women from Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Dausa, Uttarakhand, Agra, Pune, and Gujarat took part in creating the world record for collective 'Ghoomar' dance.

The operator of the program, Manoj Pandey, said that the previous world record for the group 'Ghoomar' dance was 3003 women. Now breaking its own record, Sadbhavna Parivar has now set a world record of 6000 women performing the group 'Ghoomar' dance.

The record has been confirmed by the World Book of Records, London.
