This is the scene in Shëngjin, Albania as hundreds of Afghan refugees who've fled from the Taliban's rule say that the United States has overlooked their asylum in favor of Ukrainian refugees, as seen on June 1.

"The US has forgotten us because now their focus is shifted to Ukraine. They used Afghan soil for years but they can't leave us like this in between," the protesters tell Newsflare.

Hundreds of Afghan nationals who have been evacuated to Albania during the Taliban takeover protested today ( 1st June) in Shengjin town which is 70 kms from Tirana ( Albania capital) .
100 of familes which includes women and children can be seen raising slogans with placards in their hands protesting and demanding to expedite their move to United States and Canada .
One of the refugee tells that they were evacuated here in Sep 2021 and given temporary shelter by some Non governmental organization and US . But now they have been left to their situation and are totally forgotten .
According to them refugees have been temporarily offered shelter at the Shengjin resort but now the resort’s administrator has asked them to leave the premises.The reason for this became the lack of payments made by the association that is funding the stay of Afghan refugees in Albania to the resort owners.
One of the women protesters furiously says that US has forgot us because now their focus is shifted to Ukraine .

Some afghan evacuees gathered to rise their voice abouts their moving to USA, these people were evacuated by the USA in Albania with the aim to resettlement to USA and Canada, but in the last several months no progresses made on their evacuation to their final destination, the USA were the main responsibile government on the evacuation of these people but they focused more Ukrine, though the USA troops were present in the last two decades in Afghanistan and fight against terrorism, the people of Afghanistan helped and served the USA operations in the country and sacrificed themselves on the implementation of USA objectives, off course these people are deserved to find a shelter for their resettlement and we ask the USA to take immediate action over the demands of these people."
