Man is Killed at Intersection by Black SUV That Fled the Scene at High Speeds
HEMET, CA - On 06/01/2022 at 9:30 pm, Hemet FD responded to multiple reports of a vehicle vs pedestrian at the intersection of Florida Ave and San Jacinto St, and that the pedestrian was laying in the roadway unresponsive.
Arriving crews located a victim laying in the roadway near the gas station at the intersection. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
Witnesses stated that the victim was struck by black SUV that fled the scene at high speed traveling northbound on San Jacinto St.
It's unknown at this time if the suspect vehicle has been identified or located.
Hemet PD established a crime scene in the area and are investigating the crash. Westbound Florida Ave in between Girard and San Jacinto will be closed until the scene is clear.
