A group of local people discovered an elephant trapped in a canal in rural Sri Lanka, and were able to free it by using a rope ladder.

The rescue took place at Maduru Oya on June 3rd, where the elephant was believed to have walked by the canal the night before and fallen in.

The local wildlife department were able to retrieve the elephant by laying down a rope ladder and after a few minutes it was able to climb onto land.

this is happened at maduru oya. elephants are walking on the road at night next to the cannel then he has fallen to the cannel. The wildlife department made a ladder using rope to come out to the elephant. so then the elephant using steps can he came out from the cannel
